Aesthetic Travel Themed DIY Wedding | Lily & Randy

Updated: Aug 8, 2022

Details, details, details! Our couple L & R had a clear vision of what their wedding day would look like, and boy did it exceed their expectations. This day was perfectly executed for our couple and the decor was definitely one of the highlights of this wedding. With the help of our Love and Life planning and coordination team, our bride DIY'd the majority of her decor for the day. The DIY decor made this wedding budget friendly, but looked far from it! The couple's love for travel was expertly showcased throughout the event. Held at the Fullerton Community Center, L & R celebrated their love with all their closest friends and family and started the rest of their forever!

The couple held their ceremony and cocktail hour in the gorgeous outdoor garden area of the community center. As guests arrived, they made their way to rows of white chairs leading to a stunning triangle arch for ceremony. Their arch showcased two stunning tropical floral arrangements which, might I add, the bride put together herself! That's right, our incredible bride(or should we say florist) DIY'd all of the florals for her day and did an absolutely killer job! After the bride and groom said their I do's, they were sent back down the aisle as guests threw handmade paper airplanes for their send off, which made for a stunning photo opportunity. After ceremony, guests were able to enjoy an outdoor cocktail hour. A cozy lounge area complete with a loveseat couch and rattan chairs was the perfect area for guests to mingle. An acrylic sign saying "Love is an Adventure" hung above the couch, adding to the travel theme. Instead of a traditional guest book, iPads were set up next to the card box for guests to record personalized video messages for the couple. DIY charcuterie cups were set on Rattan shelves alongside the bar for guests to munch on before reception as well.

Guests moved into the indoor reception space after cocktail hour and found their seats based on a custom printed seating chart. Instead of table numbers each table was labeled by a destination the couple has traveled to before. Their sweetheart table was charming and beautifully decorated with more DIY florals, a comfy loveseat couch, and they even repurposed their ceremony arch to sit behind their table. Once everyone found their seats, the MC introduced the bridal party and they danced their way in two at a time. L & R followed and went into a choreographed dance performance. They then gave a thank you speech and let the night commence. Guests had the option of three different food tucks/caterers for dinner. Outside there was an In-n-Out truck as well as a Taco Nazo truck. They also had a buffet style Chicken Maison line outside of the reception area. Whatever your tastebuds desired was available! Guests enjoyed dinner and then were able to pick from a variety of desserts from the dessert table. The stage was repurposed for desserts and beverages. They had a coffee and ice cream mochi cart as well as a dessert table showcasing their cake and tiers of bite sized desserts such as macaroons and cookies. After dinner and dessert, guests were ushered onto the dance floor for a large group photo and then invited to dance and party the night away! As everyone partied guests were able to take advantage of photo booth with a wooden chevron backdrop and globes situated on shelves as the background. They even had a life-sized cut out of the bride and groom for guests to take pictures with! Everything about L & R's wedding day was perfect, from every decor detail to the delicious food and fun party atmosphere!
