Beachy Balboa Wedding | Gaby & Dusty

Updated: Aug 8, 2022

G & D understood the assignment and then did some extra credit for their wedding day! Stunning views, beach vibes, and fun entertainment- what else could you ask for for a perfect wedding day? Our couple G & D tied the knot at the gorgeous Balboa Bay Resort, directly overlooking Newport Beach's bay and local yachts docked outside the event space. Our couple prioritized FUN, aesthetic decor, and entertainment for their guests. The finished ceremony and reception spaces as well as the stunning tropical florals highlighting white orchids gave the perfect touch of both classy and beach vibes.

Our couple held their ceremony on the Bayfront lawn overlooking the water and luxurious yachts. Their gorgeous arch was draped with lush, tropical greens and stunning white orchids to match the brides bouquet. Their stunning bridal party fashioned all white, challenging the tradition of no one wearing white except the bride. This touch was classy and gave off a clean and bright aesthetic. A fan favorite touch was having a WhiteClaw Flower man instead of a flower girl. One of the couple's best friends strutted down the aisle in a pink suit handing out seltzers to the wedding guests to get the party started early. They even had junior security guards walk down with the ring bearer, complete with headsets, shades, and walkie talkies. After the couple tied the knot, guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour on the terrace of the resort. A live wedding singer played in the background while hor d'ourves were passed around for guests. One of my favorite touches of the night was their unique seating chart. Fresh coconuts, provided by Coconut Man LA, were set out with a name tag for each guests starting what their table number was. Guests could their coconut with their table number, which also doubled as their meal indicator for servers, and could stick a straw in their coconut and enjoy their tropical drink.

After cocktail hour, guests moved into the gorgeous reception space in Balboa Bay's Lighthouse room. Each table set with boho wicker placemats, lush florals, and custom printed menus. Ghost Acrylic chivari chairs added to the bright, airy, beach vibe. Our bride changed into her second dress of the night and the couple made their grand entrance after their bridal party. G & D had the most hype bridal party and everyone was ready to party the night away! The couple went into their first dance and then their plated dinner service began. After guests enjoyed their meals, the couple's closest friends and family gave heartwarming speeches about the couple. To open the dance floor, all guests got up for a large group picture complete with glow sticks and other fun party favors. Guests danced the night away, but the couple had some more surprises up their sleeves. They did their garter toss but the groom came out with more than just a garter. He pulled out a magicians scarf that went on for miles with a pretend baby doll tied to the end of it. Such a fun and goofy touch! After some more dancing, the couple slipped out and our bride changed into her THIRD and final dress for the night. This dress deserved an even grander entrance, and that is what the dress got. The couple returned to the party, ushered by a group of Polynesian dance performers by Mahana Dance Company. They performed a traditional Polynesian dance and even invited the couple up to learn some moves. This was such a fun addition to the party! Guests partied and danced the rest of the night, celebrating the start of G & D's forever together!

Love and Life,

Kiana Skye
