Their special day at the breathtaking Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach was the perfect combination of elegance and fun, offering a true SoCal coastal wedding experience.

A Stunning Yacht Wedding Ceremony

As experienced wedding planners in Orange County, we know how important it is for couples to create a day that reflects their personalities. G & D made sure their wedding was not only beautiful but also an unforgettable experience for their guests. Their ceremony took place on the Bayfront lawn at Balboa Bay Resort, overlooking the water with luxurious yachts docked just beyond their ceremony space. The stunning floral arch, adorned with lush tropical greens and white orchids, was beautifully crafted by Mikasa Rentals, perfectly complementing the bride’s bouquet.

The couple’s all-white bridal party made a bold statement, challenging the tradition that only the bride wears white. This choice created a fresh, elegant aesthetic that felt effortlessly chic. But their creativity didn’t stop there! One of the biggest highlights of the ceremony was their unconventional "flower man." Instead of a flower girl, one of the couple’s best friends confidently strutted down the aisle in a pink suit, handing out White Claws to guests—setting the party tone early! Junior security guards also made an appearance, escorting the ring bearer with headsets, shades, and walkie-talkies, ensuring the rings were “safe.”

Cocktail Hour with a Coastal Twist

After the couple said “I do,” guests enjoyed a relaxed outdoor cocktail hour on the resort’s terrace. A live wedding singer, Jabe Amato, provided dreamy background music as servers passed around delicious hors d’oeuvres. One of the most unique touches of the night? Their seating chart. Instead of traditional place cards, each guest received a fresh coconut from Coconut Man LA, complete with their name and table number. Guests could sip on their coconut drink throughout the night, and it also doubled as a meal indicator for the servers—brilliant and tropical!

A Breathtaking Reception at Balboa Bay Resort

For the reception, guests moved into the stunning Lighthouse Room at Balboa Bay Resort. Tables were set with boho wicker placemats, lush floral centerpieces, and custom-printed menus, while ghost acrylic Chiavari chairs enhanced the modern, airy, beachy vibe. Our bride made a dazzling outfit change before the grand entrance, joining the most energetic bridal party to kick off the evening’s festivities! The DJ from GTS Events ensured the dance floor stayed packed all night.

After a heartfelt first dance, guests enjoyed a plated dinner service prepared by Balboa Bay Resort’s in-house catering team, followed by emotional and touching speeches from family and friends. To get the party started, everyone gathered for a huge group photo—glow sticks and fun party favors included!

Fun Wedding Surprises and Polynesian Entertainment

The night was filled with surprises. The garter toss took an unexpected comedic turn when the groom pulled out a magician’s scarf that seemed to go on forever—only to reveal a tiny baby doll tied to the end! The laughter and energy on the dance floor were unmatched. Later in the evening, our bride stunned everyone by changing into her third dress of the night—deserving nothing less than a grand re-entrance! And what better way to do that than with a Polynesian dance performance?

A talented group of Polynesian dancers from Mahana Dance Company ushered the couple back to the dance floor with a mesmerizing performance. They even invited the couple up to learn some moves, creating an incredibly fun and interactive moment that guests will never forget. With the perfect blend of elegance, entertainment, and unique touches, G & D’s wedding was a true luxury yacht-side celebration in Orange County. Their love, their energy, and their vision made for an absolutely unforgettable night!
