When it comes to meaningful celebrations, few things are more special than an intimate wedding held at home. For Rachael and Nathan, there was no better place to say "I do" than the bride’s childhood home in Malibu, California. This private residence was transformed into a stunning event space, lovingly designed and planned by the couple themselves, with help from family and close friends. The result? A wedding overflowing with sentiment, style, and soul.
Details on details for this dreamy intimate wedding

This wasn’t just a wedding—it was a masterclass in intentional design. Every element was curated with purpose. From family heirlooms to custom-built structures, Rachael and Nathan infused their love story into every corner of the day.
The ceremony unfolded on the home's back lawn, where the bride’s father, a contractor, crafted a custom cement platform for the altar. Instead of a traditional arch, a beautiful blue iron fence from the bride’s grandmother’s home served as a unique, heartfelt backdrop. Vintage lanterns, a rustic woven runner, and a weathered oak desk completed the look. The soundtrack? A live violin and ukulele duo that brought a romantic, organic feel to the ceremony as the couple exchanged personal vows.
Guests tossed rose petals in celebration as Rachael and Nathan walked back down the aisle—officially husband and wife.
Poolside Cocktails with a Twist

Cocktail hour took place poolside, with standing tables and overflowing charcuterie boards provided by Two Doughs Pizza. But the highlight was the custom bar: a vintage Cushman vehicle transformed into a self-serve station for beer and wine. Adorned with florals and balloon garlands, and bartended by a friend of the bride, it was the perfect mix of function and fun.
A Reception to Remember
The reception was held on the family’s tennis court—but you’d never know it. Thanks to Lotus Event Pros, the space was fully tented, draped in white, and covered in soft turf to create an inviting, earthy ambiance. Additional rentals from Party Pleasers helped complete the transformation.
The tablescapes were dreamy: gold chargers, soft blue cheesecloth napkins tied with twine and sprigs of lavender, elegant blue goblets, and soft candlelight. Floral arrangements by the bride’s mom added a personal, handcrafted touch. Each table was named after a national park the couple had visited, highlighting their adventurous spirits and love of the outdoors.
The couple shared their first dance to “Sleepwalk” by Johnny & Santo, then welcomed guests with a warm thank-you speech before inviting them to dinner. The meal? A wood-fired pizza bar from Two Doughs Pizza, serving up slices fresh from the oven. Nothing Bundt Cakes provided sweet treats alongside dessert pizzas for a fun and flavorful finale.
The Perfect Ending

As the night continued, heartfelt speeches, dancing, and laughter filled the transformed estate. Later in the evening, the couple cut their cake, tossed the bouquet, and hit the dance floor with guests until the very end. The evening concluded with a sparkler grand exit, lighting up the night in celebration of their next chapter.
And yes—there were luxe bathrooms too, thanks to Luxury Flush!
This day was brought to life with intention, creativity, and a whole lot of heart. Rachael and Nathan’s intimate private estate wedding is a reminder that the most personal celebrations are often the most unforgettable.
